Beef Pasta Casserole 3 cups elbow macaroni, cooked 1 lb. ground beef 1 (32 oz.) jar spaghetti sauce 1/2 cup sour cream 1 tsp. garlic salt 1/4 tsp. dried oregano, crumbled 1 can French fried onions Shredded Cheddar cheese, optional In a medium skillet, brown ground beef and drain. Stir in spaghetti sauce, reduce heat and simmer, uncovered for 5 minutes. In a small bowl, thoroughly blend cheese, sour cream and seasonings. Return pasta to saucepan and stir in 1/2 can of crumbled French fried onions. Spread evenly in bottom of an 8 x 12 inch baking pan. Pour half of meat sauce over pasta. Cover with cheese mixture. Pour remaining meat sauce over top. Bake, covered, at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes, until heated through. Top with remaining
onions. Bake, uncovered, 5 minutes or until onions are golden brown. Sprinkle with
cheddar cheese, if desired. Makes 6 to 8 servings. |
