Leftovers Casserole with Rice Crust Rice Crust: 1 cup flour 1 tsp. salt 2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 cup milk 1 cup cooked rice 1 egg Sift dry ingredients and combine with rice. Beat egg and add milk. Stir into rice mixture. Casserole: 1 cup cooked ham 1 cup cooked carrots 1 cup cooked peas 1 cup gravy or white sauce Butter Mix ham, carrots, peas, and sauce together and put in casserole. Shape rice crust to fit top of baking dish. Cut steam vents and place over ham and vegetable mix. Dot with butter. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 minutes. Other combinations of meat and vegetables may be used. |
