Sweet Potato Bake
3 cups sliced, peeled and cooked sweet potatoes
3 cups sliced, peeled tart apples (about 2 large)
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. allspice
3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
Grease a 2 quart baking dish. Layer half of sweet potatoes and apples. Combine brown sugar, spices, salt and pepper. Sprinkle half over apples. Dot with half of butter. Repeat the layers.
Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Baste with pan juices. Bake,
uncovered for 15 minutes or longer, until apples are tender. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
