Caramel Brownie Delights 14 oz. light caramels (about 50) 1/3 cup evaporated milk 1 package fudge or German chocolate cake mix 3/4 cup margarine, melted 1/3 cup evaporated milk 1 cup nuts 6 oz. package chocolate chips In a heavy saucepan combine caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Cook until melted, stirring constantly. Set aside. Grease and flour a 9 x 13 inch pan. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, melted margarine, 1/3 cup evaporated milk and nuts. Stir until mixture holds together. Press half of the dough in pan and bake at 350 degrees for 6 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top of crust. Spread caramel mixture over chocolate chips. Cover caramel mixture with reserved dough. You may crumble it over the top, or pat it flat. Return to oven and bake 15 to 18 more minutes. Cool slightly and refrigerate for 30 minutes to set caramel. Cut into small bars. |
