Chocolate Mint Surprise Cookies 1/2 cup butter or margarine 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/4 cup brown sugar 1 egg 1 Tbsp. water 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 1/2 cups flour 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt 1 package Ghiradelli mint chocolate wafers Walnut halves Cream butter with sugars. Mix in egg, water and vanilla. Sift flour and salt together. Add to creamed mixture. Chill at least 2 hours. Enclose each chocolate wafer in 1 rounded teaspoon of dough. Place on greased baking sheet and top with a walnut half. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool on a wire rack. Makes about 3 dozen cookies. |
