Sawdust Cookies 1 egg, plus 1 yolk 1 cup butter 1 cup oil 1 cup powdered sugar 1 cup granulated sugar 2 Tbsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. soda 1 tsp. cream of tartar 5 cups flour Cream together the first 5 ingredients and add vanilla. Sift together the dry ingredients and add, blending well. Form balls the size of marbles and place on ungreased cookie sheet, flatten with a glass dipped in sugar and cinnamon. You may also dip in slightly beaten egg white and then in sesame seeds or chopped nuts. Bake 10 to 15 minutes at 375 degrees. |
