Snickerdoodle Cookies 1 cup soft shortening 1 1/2 cups sugar 2 eggs 2 3/4 cups flour 2 tsp. cream of tartar 1 tsp. soda 1/2 tsp. salt Beat shortening, sugar and eggs until smooth. Sift together flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt and stir in. Chill dough for at least an hour, or overnight. Roll into balls about the size of walnuts. Roll balls in mixture of 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 tablespoons cinnamon. Place about 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a 400 degree oven for about 8 to 10 minutes, or until lightly browned but still soft. Makes
