Applesauce Salad
1 cup hot water
2/3 cup red hot candy
1 pkg. lemon Jell-O
1 1/2 cups applesauce
8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
1/2 cup chopped nut meats
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup mayonnaise
Dissolve candy in hot water. Add Jell-O and applesauce. Put half the Jell-O mix in
shallow pan or mold. Chill until set. Mix cream cheese, nut meats, celery and
mayonnaise. Spread on set Jell-O. Pour on the rest of the Jell-O and let it set. Unmold on serving plate.
Ginger-Upper
1 (3 oz.) pkg. raspberry or strawberry Jell-O
1 cup boiling water
1 1/2 tsp. lemon juice
1 cup ginger ale
1 cup diced fresh pears
Dissolve Jell-O in boiling water. Add lemon juice and ginger ale. Chill well until very
thick. Add pears. Spoon into mold. Chill until firm. Unmold to serve. Makes 6
servings.
