Blushing Pear Salad
1 (3 oz.) pkg. lime Jell-O
6 pear halves
Salad greens
Fruit dressing
Prepare Jell-O as directed on package. Color pear halves a soft pink with a solution of
red food coloring and water.
Arrange pear cut side down in 9x9x1 3/4-inch pan. Pour
Jell-O into pan. Chill until firm.
Serve a pear half in Jell-O on salad greens with fruit
dressing. Makes 6 servings.
(Note: the type of fruit dressing isn't
specified by the cook in this recipe, it may be intended to be a
Miracle Whip-type dressing, but it's your choice!)
Explorer Scouts Salad
2 pkgs. orange Jell-O
1 large can crushed pineapple
6 or 8 bananas
Make Jell-O according to package directions. Drain pineapple and save the juice. Add
pineapple and bananas to Jell-O and let set in a 9x13-inch pan. When set, spread with the
following:
1 cup juice (add water if needed)
1/2 cup sugar
2 Tbsp. butter
2 Tbsp. flour
2 eggs
Mix and cook until thick. When cool, whip in 1/2 pint of whipping cream or whipped
topping.
