Finger Jell-O
5 envelopes unflavored gelatin
2 1/2 cups hot water or fruit juice
Combine and set aside.
2 large (9 oz.) boxes Jell-O, any flavor
2 cups hot water or fruit juice
2/3 cups sugar
Bring to a boil. Add 1 cup ice water and mix again. Pour in 9x13-inch pan. Add
fruit, etc, and refrigerate for 3 hours and cube.
(This is the exact wording of this recipe.
It doesn't mention when to add the first gelatin mixture. I imagine you add it after the ice
water. The recipe mentions fruit, but doesn't specify any.
I haven't tested it, so I don't know how well it works. This
appears to be an early forerunner of what are now called Jell-O
