Make Your Plans for the 2010
Vancouver Winter Olympics Now
Whether your thing is skiing, figure skating,
speed skating,
or another competitive winter sport, RV Trekkers hoping
to attend the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and
Whistler,
British Columbia, Canada, should be making plans
now. The Olympic Games will run
from February 12 through
28, 2010, followed by the Paralympics, March 12 to 21, 2010.
Information about ticket availability has been released, and is now
online at the
Vancouver 2010 web site. Canadian residents get first
chance at tickets during 2008,
followed by the rest of the world
beginning in 2009.
Canadians may buy their tickets directly from the
Vancouver 2010 site. Residents of
other countries, including the
United States must purchase tickets through one of two
Olympics
ticket agencies, CoSport or Jet Set Sports.
RV parks on both sides of the U.S., British Columbia border have
already been taking
reservations. Check RV Trekker's links for RV
parks. On the U.S. side of the border,
Whatcom County campgrounds
are nearest to Vancouver and Whistler. Skagit is the next
closest U.S.
county, and the drive from the northern border of Skagit County to the
U.S.-
Canadian border is approximately one hour. Drive times do not
take into account border
crossing waits, which can be lengthy.
