May 9-11, 2008 - 10th Annual Camano Island Studio Tour, various locations, Stanwood and Camano Island, Washington, Friday & Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Free, self-guided tour of 32 studios and galleries and more than 58 participating artists.  

May 10, 2008 - Spring Gas Up Antique Tractor & Engine Display, Clearview Nursery, Highway 9 at 168th Street SE, Clearview, Washington, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

May 10, 2008 - Arlington Airport Appreciation Day, Arlington Airport, 18204 59th Drive NE, Arlington, Washington, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Events are dependent upon the weather.  Youth and family activities, including free flights for youth ages 7 to 18 with parent permission.

May 17, 2008 - Paine Field General Aviation Day & Taste of Mukilteo Festival, Paine Field, 3220 100th Street SW, Everett, Washington.  Main event begins at 11:30 a.m.  Free admission, food and flight-oriented fun.

May 30-June 1, 2008 - Edmonds Waterfront Festival, Port of Edmonds Marina, 400 Admiral Way, Edmonds, Washington.  Hours are Friday, 3 to 20 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Includes food, art, a waterfront run, entertainment, watercraft, a family stage and a beer stage.

June 15, 2008 - Father's Day Fishing Fun, Cascade Kamloops Trout Farm and RV Park, 1240 Darrington Street, Darrington, Washington.  Fishing with dad, a drawing and free hot dogs, no license needed.  *RV camping available onsite.

August 10-12, 2008 - Sky Valley Antique Tractor Show, Frohning Farm, 1524a Tualco Loop Road, Monroe, Washington.

Skagit County Events

May 17-18, 2008 - Anacortes Waterfront Festival, Cap Sante Boat Haven, 1019 Q Avenue, Anacortes, Washington, Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Boat rides, displays, swap meet, car shows (one an all Corvette show), boat show, entertainment, kids activities.

June 14, 2008 - Bark in the Park, Storvik Park, Anacortes, Washington, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Dog parade, demonstrations, food and vendor booths.  Benefits Anacortes Dog Park.

June 19-22, 2008 - Berry Dairy Days, various locations, Burlington, Washington.  Festival celebrates local agriculture, includes parades, fireworks, a strawberry shortcake booth, live music, vendors, a salmon BBQ and more.

June 28-29, 2008 - LaConner Summer Street Festival, downtown LaConner, Washington, Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Live music, food, arts & crafts, merchant sales.

June 27 to July 4, 2008 - Loggerodeo, various locations, Sedro-Woolley, Washington.  The oldest Fourth of July celebration in Washington State, includes wood carving, a bluegrass music festival, arts & crafts fair, logging exhibition and more.  

July 4, 2008 - July 4th Celebration, various locations, Anacortes, Washington.  Begins with a town photo at 10 a.m. at 5th & Commercial Streets, followed by a parade at 11 a.m. starting at 3rd and Commercial Streets.  Other events include a patriotic program at Causland Park and fireworks over Fidalgo Bay at dusk.

July 4, 2008 - Bursting in Air Fireworks over the Swinomish, LaConner, Washington, begins at 10 p.m.  Community fireworks display.

July 12, 2008 - Kids R Best Fest, Storvik Park, Anacortes, Washington, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Includes games, activities, entertainment, prizes and more.

July 19, 2008 - Anacortes Shipwreck Day Flea Market, 10th - 3rd Streets, Anacortes, Washington, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Annual downtown flea market.

July 25-27, 2008 - An-O-Chords 52nd Annual Barbershop Show & Salmon BBQ, Anacortes, Washington, 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

August 1-3, 2008 - Anacortes Arts Festival, downtown Anacortes, Washington, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Long-running high quality art festival.

August 6-9, 2008 - Skagit County Fair, Skagit County Fairgrounds, Hazel & Virginia Streets, Mount Vernon, Washington, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.  *RV camping available.

Whatcom County Events

May 10, 2008 - Backyard Habitat & Native Flora Fair, Fairhaven Village Green, 10th Street & Mill Avenue, Bellingham, Washington, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.  Includes a native plant sale, guided walks and free backyard habitat yard tours.

May 11, 2008 - Big Rock Garden Party, Big Rock Garden Park, Sylvan Street & Illinois Lane, Bellingham, Washington, 1 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Annual Mother's Day event includes an opening for the park's sculpture exhibition, with the artists, live music and light refreshments.  The approach to the park is steep and parking is limited.  It's best for this event to park at Bloedel Donovan Park, 2214 Electric Avenue, and take a free event shuttle.  The first shuttle will leave the Bloedel Donovan parking lot at 12:45 p.m.

May 17, 2008 - Pedal Fest Adaptive Cycle Expo, Lottie Street in front of City Hall, Bellingham, Washington, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., free.  Open to all ages, this event is a change to try out bicycles designed for everyone, regardless of physical ability.

May 18, 2008 - Lake Padden Native Plant Walk, Lake Padden Park, 4882 Samish Way, Bellingham, Washington, 1 to 3 p.m.  Meet at the west parking area near the tennis courts..  Free walk open to all ages (children must be accompanied by an adult).  Dress for the weather and wear walking shoes that may get wet.

May 20, 2008 - Whatcom WEB (Women Expanding Boundaries) Open House, Fairhaven Park Pavilion, 107 Chuckanut Drive, Bellingham, Washington, 7 to 8:30 p.m., $2 donation requested.  Open to women age 18 and older interested in outdoor recreation.

May 15-25, 2008 - Ski to Sea Festival & Race, Bellingham and Whatcom County, Washington.  Annual festival includes parades, sailing regatta, motorcycle show, art show, wooden boat show, carnival, a junior race, and the world famous Ski to Sea Race on May 25, a multi-leg relay that begins on the slopes of Mount Baker and ends in Bellingham Bay.  Includes skiing, bicycling, running, canoeing and kayaking.  The race is followed by a festival in Bellingham's historic Fairhaven District.  For events and schedule, visit the Ski to Sea web site.

May 28, 2007 - Whatcom Falls Park Native Plant Walk, Whatcom Falls Park, 1401 Electric Avenue, Bellingham, Washington, 6 p.m. to dusk.  Meet at the parking area south of the fish hatchery and near the stone bridge.  Free walk open to all ages (children must be accompanied by an adult.  Gentle walk along Whatcom Creek.  Dress for the weather and wear walking shoes that may get wet.

June 28, 2008 - Lake Padden Triathlon, Lake Padden Park, 4882 Samish Way, Bellingham, Washington.  Includes competitive and recreational divisions for all ages. Register online or at Bellingham Parks and Recreation, 3424 Meridian Street, Bellingham.  The competitive division race begins at 8:30 a.m., the recreational division begins at 1 p.m.  Race includes swimming, bicycling, and running.  

July 26, 2008 - Padden Dualthlon One-Third Less Race, Lake Padden Park (dog off-leash area), 4882 Samish Way, Bellingham, Washington.  Running and road biking dualthlon, begins at 9:30 a.m.  Open to all ages, $15 pre-registration, $20 after July 16.  

August 2, 2008 - 19th Annual Bellingham Kids' Festival, Bloedel Donovan Park, 2214 Electric Avenue, Bellingham, Washington, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., free.  Family event with free food, performers, face painting, clowns and more.
